I appreciate your perspective on this. With most things in life, this wouldn’t be my strategy. I am in agreement with you that this isn’t the most effective strategy for a balanced planet.

But for entrepreneurship specifically, I (obviously) think it is. Because it’s a different beast that requires a very specific type of person. Think of it like the military. You could easily argue that beating the shit out of new recruits isn’t the best way to bring people in to the family, but for that particular line of work, it is required to weed out the ones that aren’t qualified. For high-growth entrepreneurship, I see it the same way. Positivity and support can be too accommodating and not prepare people properly for the journey. It can also be over-inclusive. Not everyone is an entrepreneur.
